Meeting of the Minds - Aerobic and Fitness Association of America conference report

American Fitness,  March, 1999

During a December conference in Tokyo, AFAA Japan was acknowledged for their 10-year commitment to fitness education. Petra Robinson, AFAA USA Vice President of Promotions (representing AFAA USA President Linda Pfeffer, R.N.), honored AFAA Japan President and CEO Yoji Takahashi and AFAA Japan Director Shin Sugiura with a ceremonial plaque.

AFAA Japan and AFAA USA have emerged as two giants in the fitness industry who are continually developing objectives for the future. These include bridging the gap between health, fitness and corporate business and placing greater attention on AFAA consumer services through corporate programs emphasizing lifestyle management.

As participants in APEX '99, AFAA Japan will host workshops in three U.S. cities. In preparation for APEX 2000, AFAA Japan will participate in the Los Angeles conference, where consultants will also host master classes.

AFAA Japan Consultant Trainer Yoko Holcomb will work with AFAA USA, providing translation and insights regarding new training techniques used in Japan.
