Get Your Juices Flowing

American Fitness, March, 2001 by D.K. Howe

Jamba Juice[R], the people who bring you nutritious, cleverly named smoothies like "Mango-A-Go-Go," "Berry Lime Sublime" and "Orange-A-Peel," is joining forces with 24 Hour Fitness. The first of three stores opened a year ago in San Ramon, California. Two more have since opened in San Francisco and Sacramento.

Jamba Juice teamed up with the fitness chain in an initial partnership agreement that allows 24 Hour Fitness to license Jamba Juice stores or kiosks in three California clubs. All the test locations were open as of July 2000 to take advantage of the heightened summer workout season. Based on the popularity of these pioneering, non-traditional Jamba Juice locations during the first year, larger multi-unit agreements may be developed.

"There is a strong alignment in culture and core philosophies underlining the mutually beneficial expansion between Jamba Juice and 24 Hour Fitness," said Kirk Perron, founder and chairman of Jamba Juice. "They are committed to operating Jamba at the highest standards."
