"I love to use my muscles," she says. Langstaff walks, lifts upper body weights and runs in the pool. She rowed for Aqua Cool in the Dragon Boat races, winning in her age group. She's currently recovering from a September, 1998, surgery involving the fusing of her ankle joints. She began teaching aerobics using her AFAA certification once again in January, 1999. Her doctor now assures she will run again, though probably not in marathons.

At 57, Langstaff keeps going, despite devastating losses and injuries--all for love of exercise. Her only regret? "I wish I had started sports when I was younger," she says.
