I have thoroughly enjoyed learning from AFAA instructors. I would love to become an aerobics instructor myself. To that end, I am planning on signing up for an AFAA Primary Aerobics Certification in the near future.
I would really like to learn about aerobics choreography. I also think it would be good to implement an apprentice program where participants have a chance to practice with an experienced, certified instructor after earning their own certification.
Thank you for the opportunities you bring to people. Your work affects a lot of people's lives.

AFAA Role Models
After reading the Member Spotlight [on Laura Libricz] (September/October 1999, p. 69), I feel compelled to tell you about my wife, Michelle Corneau. She became a certified aerobics instructor in 1.987 while we were living in Stuttgart, Germany. Since then, Michelle has continued on a path of continuous skill development and improvement. Before my career as an Army pilot forced us back to Germany this summer, Michelle became part of the AFAA Examiner Network. Before we departed the United States, she had the opportunity to do a few examinations and absolutely reveled in the events. Here in Wiesbaden, Germany, all programs are significantly curtailed due to budget shortfalls. Despite this, my wife has drawn a following of active duty soldiers and their spouses to the variety of classes she provides.
Besides her professional skills, my wife--the whole family, in fact--practices a healthy, fit lifestyle. We probably have the only three children in the world (ages 4, 7 and 9) who bluster at the grocery store if we try to slip something into the basket that isn't fat-free.

It was great to see a practical article that applies to the fitness world as well as the world at large. Gina DiNicolo's article, "Sell! Sell! Sell!" (January/February 2000, p. 61), really helped my teenage son in his new position at work. He works at a stereo and electronics shop in our town and has to deal with customers on a daily basis. He's also an avid athlete and works out regularly, so the combination of sales technique with a fitness twist really drove some of Ms. DiNicolo's key points home. It's really increased his confidence at work and helped him deal with salespeople when he's shopping for himself. Thank you for featuring such a practical, cross-topical article in your magazine.
