A doc with a heart

American Fitness,  Nov-Dec, 2004

Millions of Americans have cardiovascular concerns, including one of the country's best-known physicians: Dr. Art Ulene. Ulene was the family doctor on the Today Show for more than two decades and has been struggling with high cholesterol levels for nearly 30 years.

To manage his high cholesterol, Ulene changed his diet and began taking medication. However, problems with his medication forced him to stop taking it. "I had two serious complications on statin drugs, which made it necessary for me to search for an alternative solution that would help get my cholesterol into healthy levels," Ulene said.

On his new track to a healthy heart, he focused on nutrition, adding specific supplements, such as plant sterols, antioxidants, vitamins B and E as well as essential fatty acids, to his diet. Eventually, Ulene discovered Heart Advance, a supplement that contained all the nutrients he had been taking separately--and then some. His daily dose of Heart Advance includes eight pills, four in the morning and four at dinner. "It dramatically simplifies the process by combining more than 30 different individual nutrients into one formula," he explains.

"When you walk into a health-food store you are overwhelmed with the choices," says Ulene. "The beauty of Heart Advance is that scientists have identified the nutrients clinically shown to promote heart health and put them all together in one convenient package."
