Sneezeless Shape-Ups

Athletes who enjoy the outdoors, but suffer from allergies don't have to throw in the towel. A free booklet, The Chlor-Trimeton Handbook For the Allergic Athlete, is now available through a public information program which forecasts allergy season severity and offers coping tips to allergy sufferers.

Designed to help those with allergies maintain an active lifestyle year-round, the booklet features several allergy season relief tips:

* Avoid exercising in the early morning hours when plants produce the most pollen.

* After exercising, wash your hair and hands and rinse your eyes with cool water to clear clinging allergens.

* Take an over-the-counter antihistamine tablet, like Chlor-Trimeton, one half-hour before going outdoors.

* When exercising indoors, use air conditioning which cleans and dries the air.

The eight-panel brochure also provides allergic athletes with a region-by-region look at seasonal allergens, including when and where they peak. For further information, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to The Chlor-Trimeton Handbook for the Allergic Athlete, P.O. Box 5129, Dept. AF, Bergenfield, NJ 07621.
