Apothecarium and 5-Minute Clinical Consult for the Palm Pilot - Software Review - Evaluation

Journal of Family Practice, March, 2001 by Allan J. Wilke

What about the linkages between the programs? Getting up to speed on San Joaquin fever in 5-Minute Clinical Consult, the user discovers that amphotericin B, ketoconazole, and fluconazole are the drugs of choice. By tapping on the Link button and choosing LexiDrugs the user is presented with those 3 drugs. They can then be investigated. Choosing Interact presents the same drugs, which can then be checked for potential drug interactions.

There are some minor blemishes, misspellings, and extraneous characters. All in all, though, these are worthwhile products. I recommend them for students, residents, faculty, and practicing physicians. Our non-family physician colleagues could use this information when they are presented with a disease or a drug outside their areas of expertise.
