Be a lifesaver

Muscle & Fitness,  July, 2008

The American Heart Association has issued an advisory urging everyone, trained or not, to act immediately when faced with an adult whose heart has stopped. In such a situation, the protocol is as follows: Call 9II, then immediately begin pushing on the middle of the chest until help arrives. The AHA says 100 pushes a minute that make the chest depress 2 inches is ideal.

This kind of quick response can more than double survival rates. Such advice doesn't apply to children, or adults who have drowned or are experiencing a drug overdose.
