Histadine

Muscle & Fitness, August, 2009 by Tabatha Elliott

You may know histadine as the amino acid that combines with beta-alanine in the body to form the strength- and endurance-booster carnosine. You might also recognize it as the amino that forms histamine, which is involved in the immune response when you get sick or have an allergic reaction. But histadine can also elevate NO levels by enhancing the activity of NOS. (6), (7) Supplementing with a product that supplies histadine in addition to arginine will help your body convert more arginine into NO by increasing the activity of NOS.

CHOOSE: A product that supplies 1-2 grams of histadine (such as L-histadine or histadine alpha-ketoglutarate) before breakfast, 30-60 minutes before workouts and 30-60 minutes before bed.
