In itself, being a multiple is neither a blessing nor a curse. Depending upon the degree of physical resemblance and the attitudes and expectations of the people around them, multiples may or may not enjoy advantages and may or may not suffer hardships. As long as parents keep in mind that multiples are indeed special but that each child one is special in his or her own way as well, they can help their children cope with whatever situations arise in a manner that will tip the balance well toward the salutary side.
