When good things happen to bad hair

Vegetarian Times, Dec, 2000 by Valerie Latona

* Invest in a humidifier. Get one for your home and/or office. Adding humidity to dry indoor air can help combat dry, fly-away hair.

* Brush, brush, brush. Brush your hair 50 to 100 strokes per day, upside down if possible, with a firm-bristled brush. This boosts circulation, stimulating the release of the hair's natural oils.

* Avoid the wrong hairstyles. Don't regularly pull you hair back into tight buns, ponytails or braids. Over time, the strands can break and split ends can result. And never use uncoated rubber bands, which can also cause breakage.
