Tropicana Field, home of the American League's Tampa Bay Devil Rays, has been selected as baseballs most veg-friendly ballpark by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Tropicana Field "has one of the most impressive lineups of vegetarian food in the league," PETA has announced. Fans can feast on Gardenburgers, fruit smoothies, garlic knots, black beans and rice, vegetable stir-fry, pasta and veggie subs.

Coors Field in Denver, home of the Colorado Rockies, came in second; the Toronto Blue Jays' SkyDome third; and Network Associates Coliseum, where the Oakland Xs play, finished fourth. "If most baseball fans knew what goes into meat hot dogs," a PETA press release says, "they'd probably have them ejected from the concession stands." Fortunately, enough fans who know what such foods contain are demanding better and getting it. Fans at Toronto's SkyDome, for example, can choose items from Vancouver's Yves Veggie Cuisine, whose meatless wieners and burgers, fruit cups and fresh green salads are a hit.
