Caffeine alert

> Insulin is essential for the proper metabolism of carbohydrates and sugars. But a small amount of caffeine decreases the ability to process insulin, researchers at the University Medical Center in The Netherlands report. In the study, reported in February 2002 by Web-MDHealth, participants showed significant decreases in insulin sensitivity, meaning they were less capable of sending blood sugar to cells to be used for energy and had less energy.
