Here's more proof that lycopene--a carotenoid found in tomatoes, tomato products and other fruits and vegetables--may help prevent certain forms of cancer. A study of patients at high risk for liver cancer showed a 50 percent liver-cancer suppression in participants who daily consumed the all-natural tomato extract Lyc-O-Mato, which contains lycopene plus other tomato phytonutrients.
Professor H. Nishino of the University of Medicine in Kyoto, Japan, presented the study to the American Academy for Cancer Research in October 2002.
