Loving the lifestyle - letters - Letter to the Editor

Vegetarian Times,  May, 2003  by Tamara Dormer

I'm both a new subscriber and a new vegetarian--only about five months. I knew I would need help, so I subscribed to VT. I have to say that while your recipes and articles on healthy eating are excellent, my favorite articles so far are the ones I've read in your Lifestyle section. The first I read was about reducing clutter (January 2003)--one of the very best I've seen on the subject. It gave me great ideas, yet in a short article that in itself reduces clutter--clutter of time and clutter of pages. I also enjoyed the article in the March 2003 issue on feng shui. I've always been interested in this practice, but your article hit me like a hammer that I really need to find out more and put it into practice.

I am recovering from a deep depression and a bad marriage, so I am in the process of making many changes and discovering myself maybe for the first time. Decluttering my life, becoming vegetarian and doing other things to balance my life are just part of what has always been me, yet I was too immobilized to find these aspects of myself.

So, in addition to providing wonderful, simple ways for a new vegetarian who hates to cook--that may change too--you are helping me to balance out other aspects of my life. Keep up the excellent work--cheers abound from this corner!
