Researchers at the University of Rochester have found how chemicals in green tea, considered close molecular cousins to cancer-fighting substances in broccoli, cabbage and red wine, inhibit tobacco's ability to cause cancel: Published in the July 21, 2003 Chemical Research in Toxicology, the study shows that two antioxidants in green tea shut down a molecule called aryl hydrocarbon that helps activate harmful proteins, "thus wreaking havoc within the cell" www.cancerfacts.com reports.
