Although Bush's is known for baked beans, the company's product line includes more than 20 varieties of beans, including kidney, black and cannellini, as well as black-eyed peas.

This year, I'm tipping my 10-gallon hat to Houston, where the Super Bowl will be played, and am making an easy Spicy Black . Bean Dip. Just drain 2 cans of Bush's Black Beans and puree with 1 peeled shallot, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of kosher salt and 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper. Add 1 minced jalapeno, 1 white onion and 2 large tomatoes. Serve warm with salsa, guacamole and chips.
