Lose weight the veg way
Vegetarian Times, Feb, 2004 by Wendy A.
Given the variety of diets out there---Atkins, South Beach, Jenny Craig, etc.--why don't we see a sensible weight loss program featuring vegetarianism? I have almost sworn off animal meats completely. I would like to lose some weight (40 to 45 pounds or so), but most meal plans these days have some sort of animal meat protein featured. Could you guide me in the right direction?

We'll be writing about vegetarian diets at least every other month this year. Coming in March: how to go low-carb as a vegetarian. And in case you missed it, the January 2004 issue of VT featured a veg version of the popular South Beach Diet. Find the archived article on the VT Web site at www.vegetariantimes.com.
