Soy pancake mix may soon replace chicken livers as the favorite food of doctors diagnosing gastrointestinal disorders. For years, physicians have injected a radioactive tracer into chicken livers, which are then fed to patients. The tracer enters the intestinal system and "lights it up," allowing X-ray machines to produce images that can be transmitted and analyzed.
