School chums

My good old college friend Sandi was always shouting at my lunch, "Dead bird!" After all the joking, I decided to give vegetarianism a go. It started as an experiment: Could I go vegetarian for an entire summer? I loved it and have stuck with it now for 15 years (though I have to admit, I have started eating some seafood once or twice a month). I tried being a vegan for about six months but just couldn't stomach milk substitutes.
