Green Means "Go!" Green tea extract may help improve endurance during exercise. Although human trials are needed, research suggests that green tea extract could help you swim faster and for longer periods. Green tea extract may also make it possible to burn fat more efficiently. Takatoshi Murase, PhD, says that an athlete weighing 165 pounds would need to drink about four cups of green tea daily to achieve these results, according to the November 24, 2004 issue of the American Journal of Physiology--Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology.

Heavier people would obviously have to drink more!
