Grape juice can protect your heart - Lifelines - Brief Article

Vibrant Life, March-April, 2002

Drinking purple grape juice contributes to healthier cardiovascular function in at least two related ways, according to a recent study.

After drinking about two cups of grape juice per day for two weeks, study subjects' blood showed 13 percent higher levels of vitamin E, 50 percent higher levels of total antioxidants, and significantly lower levels of blood platelet activity. The study also showed that levels of superoxide--a potentially harmful free radical in blood--was reduced by a third after the grape juice consumption.
