Good reasons to start smoking? - Lifelines - results of adolescent smoking survey

Some 3,000 American adolescents become regular smokers every day. And by age 17, 50 percent of teenage smokers have tried to quit and failed. The top three reasons teens give for starting smoking: friends use them (31 percent); out of curiosity (29 percent); and to be "cool" (15 percent).
