Albert Bothe Jr., MD, is associate chief medical officer and chief quality officer for Geisinger Health System in Danville, Pa. Prior to coming to Geisinger, Bothe served in numerous roles at the University of Chicago including associate dean and executive director of the faculty practice plan and professor of surgery. He was previously associated with New England Deaconess Hospital, Boston, Mass., in a number of positions. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University, he earned a BMS degree at Dartmouth Medical School and his Doctor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Bothe also holds a Masters of Medical Management degree from the Tulane School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine. The author and co-author of numerous articles, books and monographs on a variety of health and medical issues and topics, Bothe is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, member of the Association for Academic Surgery, and a member of the Board of Advisors, American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition.
