Web question asks about greatest obstacle

A recent ACPE Web survey asked physician executives, "What is the biggest obstacle you face if you want to move to a higher level of management?

The unscientific survey drew 687 responses with 38 percent indicating that "a lack of operational experience" was the biggest obstacle.

The next biggest obstacle was a lack of business/management education at 23 percent, and 19 percent actually said being a physician is not an asset in getting a higher level management position.

Only 6 percent said they had no desire to move higher.
