Richard H. Carmona, MD, MPH, was recently sworn in as the new Surgeon General. The U.S. Senate approved his nomination by President George W. Bush. According to his office, Carmona is currently working with Bush to formulate his plans for the upcoming year and will be outlining his initiatives soon.
