Steven D. Hanks

Steven D. Hanks, MD, MMM, is senior vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer for the Central Connecticut Health Alliance (CCHA) in New Britain, Conn. As a member of the CCHA executive management team, Hanks will implement strategies to ensure supportive collaboration between New Britain General Hospital and Bradley Memorial Hospital, institutions that are affiliated members of CCHA. He will direct medical affairs for the alliance, as well as oversee the functions of risk management, performance improvement, clinical outcomes management, utilization review, care coordination and clinical research. Hanks joined CCHA from the Finger Lakes Regional Health System where he served as senior vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer. Prior to that he was chief medical officer of Adriot Research Solutions, a doctor's research organization (DRO) that he co-founded. Hanks earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester in 1989 and is board-certified in internal medicine. In 2001 he earned a Master's in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
