When video games are good for you

Attention, game lovers: A new study from McGill University in Montreal found that those who played a special video game in which they had to spot smiling faces had a 17 percent reduction in the stress hormone cortisol. Why? "Focusing on happy faces reinforces your ability to turn your attention away from things like criticism and conflict," says lead author Mark Baldwin, Ph.D.
