Age-defying workouts
Shape, Jan, 2005
Shame on Shape for limiting "The Age-Defying Workout" (October) to women in their 20s, 30s and 40s. At 52, I use exercise to rev up my postmenopausal metabolism and relieve job-induced stress. My 79-year-old mother swims daily. I have been an avid reader of Shape for 20 years and will continue to benefit from your publication. Please don't forget your post-40-year-old fans. We're not too old to look and feel good.
--Tally Bates, Boise, Idaho
Shape editors respond: The basic principles that Shape encourages--incorporating physical activity into one's life, eating for health and nurturing the spirit--are universal, and we're happy to hear that women of all ages make our message their own.
