A new way to minimize jet lag - Think Healthy

Shape,  June, 2003  by Karen Deis

University of Virginia biologists have some new advice for travelers: A day or two before a long-distance trip, start adjusting your meal schedule so that you're eating when it's mealtime at your destination. In animal studies, this was found to reset the liver's "clock," perhaps also helping to avoid the digestive distress often associated with jet lag.

Taking melatonin and spending time in natural light at your destination also have been shown to help prevent jet lag. And expect traveling east to be more disruptive than traveling west.
