Toning up with …: Giuliana Rancic
Shape, July, 2008 by Claire Connors
News flash! Giuliana Rancic, E! host, red carpet correspondent, and author of the dating guide Think Like a Man, admits she works her butt off to look good. "I hate it when celebrities say they never exercise but are really in the gym five days a week," says Giuliana. "So I'll be honest: I run an hour a day, weight-train four times a week, and watch what I eat." For more straight talk from the star, plus her favorite arm moves, read on.
Play up your assets "Two weeks before a red carpet event, I weight-train to get my shoulders, arms, and chest buff. The day before, I work them really hard and then rest them the day of. And since I put a lot of effort into toning my upper body, I always wear strapless and halter dresses to show it off."
Eat well all day "A few years ago, I was working like crazy, skipping meals, and eating too many sweets at night. I gained 10 pounds and would wake up feeling hungover from sugar! Now I eat good foods throughout the day to regulate my blood sugar. I start every morning with a grapefruit, then I move on to salmon or grilled chicken for lunch and dinner. I feel so much better."
