No need to avoid the ocean for fear of jellyfish: After 10 years of research, scientists have developed a line of protective Safe Sea lotions ($6.25-$6.75; safesea lotion.com). When applied before going in the water, they shield the skin by inhibiting the stinging mechanism of jellyfish, sea nettles, sea lice and coral.
