Hypnosis might be an option - Postscripts - treating chronic indigestion - Brief Article

Nutrition Health Review, Summer, 2003

Hypnosis might be an option for people with chronic indigestion, according to a study published in Gastroenterology in 2003.

Researchers divided 126 participants into three groups. One group received medication for excess stomach acid, one group received 30 minutes of hypnotherapy, and the last group received a placebo treatment. Each group underwent 12 sessions of their respective therapies. After 40 weeks, those who received hypnotherapy needed less medication and fewer visits to the doctor and reported an improved quality of life.
