A 16-year-old girl recently died - Postscripts - low-carbohydrate, high-protein diet - Brief Article

Nutrition Health Review, Summer, 2003

A 16-year-old girl recently died after following a self-styled diet based on a low-carbohydrate and high-protein intake. Otherwise in good health, she was found to have had low potassium and calcium levels and an electrolyte imbalance from the diet, which had caused her heart to stop. She was not experiencing any other illness, and toxicology reports were negative.
