Nutrition Research Newsletter, July-August, 1993
Conclusions: The reviewers conclude, "Although we are on more certain ground than we were in 1987, the recommendations made in this review must be regarded as temporary. As the links between vitamin nutriture and certain age-associated chronic diseases and degenerative changes are elucidated, our concept of vitamin RDAs may also change." In summary, the current RDAs, for older adults for riboflavin, vitamin [B.sub.6], vitamin D, and vitamin [B.sub.12] are too low, those for thiamin, vitamin C, and folate are appropriate, and the vitamin A RDA is probably too high.
