Toys 'R' Us, Universal Join for 20th Anniversary ET Hoopla

PARAMUS, N.J--Toys "R" Us inked a three-year; 20-country merchandising deal with Universal Studios' consumer products unit and Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment. Toys "R" Us will create new products tied to the film ET as Universal prepares for its 20th anniversary re-release in spring 2002. ET-branded products will include gifts, apparel, sporting goods, puzzles, accessories, collectibles, electronics, school supplies and, of course, toys.

With 1,553 store worldwide, Toys "R" Us plans in-store boutiques, plus print and TV ads.
