Brandweek, Feb 15, 1999

Agency Colby Effler in Santa Monica, Calif., highlights superior engineering and race victories in new TV/print ads for American Suzuki Motor Corp. Billings est. at $10 million... PERSONNEL: Jim Ritts resigned as commissioner of the LPGA Tour, Daytona Beach, Fla., to become COO of Digital Entertainment Network. He will be succeeded at the women's golf organization by Ty Votaw, promoted from vice president of business affairs.

FOR THE RECORD: A photo caption accompanying the PGA Merchandise Show dateline (Brandweek, Feb. 8) should have said "Ray-Ban partners with Callaway Golf on sunglasses"... A story entitled "Sports Marketing: Wendy's Extends NHL To Kids" (Feb.1) incorrectly identified Fox Family Channel as a partner in a Wendy's/NHL Sweepstakes. The correct partner is Fox Kids Network... A preview of golfs trade show (Jan. 25) should have stated Cobra would put its marketing muscle this year behind the launch of its Gravity Back clubs, not King Cobra, a line that is being retired.
