Excite, Redwood City, Calif., announced it is ready to accept and serve rich media advertising. Four major advertisers have been signed for the new program, with ads to begin running today Only Lexus, Torrance, Calif., was announced at deadline. Rich ads will be placed across the entire Excite network, including excite.com, webcrawler.com, classifieds2000.com and the co-branded search channel on Netscape's Netcenter.
