Ingenico: total payment solutions for Latin America
Latin Trade, Oct, 2004
Ingenico, the worldwide leader in secure transactions, is launching several new products in Latin America and seeks more distributors to keep pace with its success in the region.
Offering a full range of solutions that facilitate payment in all types of environments, Ingenico has experienced a 40% growth in business over the past four years throughout Latin America.
"Our success in Latin America is largely due to the quality of our products and because we offer total payment solutions: from hardware and software, to installation and maintenance," says Gilson de Lima Carvalho, Latin America sales director for Ingenico. "Ingenico's solutions are secure, EMV compliant and our terminals are high availability with multi-application capabilities. Our maintenance is full service and we have the capacity to develop fast and customized software applications for each customer in every country."
Ingenico covers all countries in Latin America via offices in Miami, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina and through distributors throughout the region. Clients in Mexico include BBVA, Santander Bank, Inbursa, Banorte, Bancomer and American Express, while clients in Brazil include Visanet, Redecard, Accor, Sodexho, Ticket Restaurante, Tecban, American Express, Hipercard, Unimed, Banrisul and Interchange.
"We believe distributors throughout the region now have a new and unique opportunity to deal with the local market and Ingenico's products, providing customers with the most complete solutions for the financial industry," Lima Carvalho adds.
Ingenico offers a complete range of EMV, high availability and high security products, such as pin pads, retail automation products and point of sales terminals--desktops, terminals, wireless terminals and GSM/GPRS terminals.
The company also provides applications software, plus merchant training, terminal installation and maintenance, and installed base management.
Ingenico recently launched its new Pay@Table Solution in Latin America, providing credit card holders and merchants with the most sophisticated technology and convenience--allowing the terminal to reach the hand of the card holder, reducing the natural barriers of a plugged terminal.
The 17780 is a wireless terminal for indoor environments--such as restaurants and gas stations--and the 18200 is a wireless terminal for outdoor environments--such as taxis and delivery of food and other products.
"We expect our new Pay@Table products to be extremely popular in Latin America," says Mauro Arthur Amato, Latin America Product Market Director. "In both technologies Ingenico keeps the same high standards of security, high availability, local software development and full services coverage that our products are known to have in the region."
