PORTUGAL TELECOM and Telecom Italia, European telecommunications companies, are increasing their presence in Brazil's wireless market. Portugal Telecom will acquire 65% of its Brazilian unit, Telesp Celular Participacoes. Telecom Italia is launching nationwide wireless service through its Brazilian unit Telecom Italia Mobile.
