THE GOVERNMENT approved 90 days of tax exemptions on imported auto parts. The move, which principally benefits multinational automakers General Motors, Toyota, Mitsubishi and Chrysler, aims to prevent layoffs in the sector, which has seen a 40% drop in sales in 2002.
