* The Good

Cool small size, and the picture is good. We liked the one-finger controls and the James Bond flair of the packaging. Plays CDs and MP3 digital music files, too.

* The Bad

Small device means small screen (14.7 centimeters diagonal). Battery life is three hours, Panasonic says, if you set the screen brightness "at the lowest setting." This does not bode well for long flights, unless you carry backup batteries.

* Who Should Buy

Great for personal viewing in tight spaces. Business class commandos will like the portability.

* Who Should Not

If you want a cinematic experience, go to the movies.
