COMPANHIA VALE DO RIO DOCE (CVRD), a Brazilian metals and mining company, said it signed a contract to supply 70 million tons of iron ore to JFE Steel, a Japanese steel producer. CVRD did not disclose financial details surrounding the contract, which will run for 10 years beginning in 2005.
