Best airline food: LanChile

Latin Trade, Feb, 2004

Menus designed by prestigious chefs in Argentina, Peru and Chile, along with fine wines selected by master sommelier Hector Vergara, gave LanChile an easy win in the Best Airline Food category. Our readers highly applauded the Chilean carrier's outstanding cuisine. The menus, which change to offer variety (especially appreciated by executives who regularly fly the same flights and routes), no doubt helped seal the victory. And the wine selection certainly was a factor: LanChile has been recognized repeatedly as having one of the top five wine cellars among global airlines.

LanChile's nine Chilean vintages, as well as the French champagne offered on board, form a wine list that includes prestigious reds and whites. Among them are Merlot La Joya Gran Reserva 1999 from the Bisquertt winery and Sauvignon Blanc Santa Isabel Estate 2002 from the Casablanca vineyards.
