Neoris' architecture for pragmatic innovation: strategies and solutions that meet corporate challenges

Latin Trade, Feb, 2004

Since Neoris was founded in 2000, Chief Executive Officer Martin Hecker has grown the company's business strategy consulting expertise into a US$150 million operation employing over 1,000 people in eight countries on three continents. With an extensive background in managing information technology strategy and services, as well as application and architecture development for recognized companies such as Fujitsu, Lufthansa and Siemens-Nixdorf, Hecker has employed his vision, knowledge and experience to create a new kind of IT consulting and services company that addresses the business challenges inherent in today's global Fortune 1000 community.

Question: What has fueled Neoris' success in Latin America and beyond?

Answer: Neoris was created as a true Latin American company with headquarters in Miami to serve clients in the global marketplace. Our commitment to the region is unparalleled; with about 70% of our business derived from Latin America--compared with our competitors, whose revenues from the market represent only 2% to 3%.

In just three short years, Neoris has become a powerhouse in IT consulting and services, whose high level of expertise has been recognized by an elite group of world-class clients such as Pemex, Lockheed Martin, Desc, Ambev and Cargill, among others. Neoris is now among the top five professional services firms in IT consultancy and the sixth largest systems integrator and software deployment firm in Latin America. Our vision for the future is to bring the exemplary innovation and service that clients have come to appreciate to more businesses throughout the U.S. and Europe.

Our philosophy is simple: What we recommend, we can implement. And what we implement, we can empower our clients to operate for sustainable and manageable benefits. Neoris" success as a company depends on the results we help our clients achieve. By competing on value and focusing on the process, we hope to continue our rapid growth in the global IT consulting and services industry.

Q: What are the strengths Neoris can bring to global businesses?

A: Neoris excels at understanding each company's unique challenges and objectives, in order to establish trusting business partnerships that deliver results. With this understanding we are able to create customized solutions that use technological innovations to solve the most complex business problems.

For example: Desc, one of Mexico's largest industrial groups, wanted to create a single corporate environment from its managerially independent partners. Neoris recognized the need to develop a scalable solution that would easily integrate into Desc's current infrastructure. Neoris provided Desc's IT department with Camila, a Virtual Workplace solution which allows multiple companies to operate as a single, unit obtaining substantial cost-saving benefits.

Another success story is the case of Lockheed Martin, the world's number one defense contractor, where Neoris was selected to perform an application framework trade study to support the development of applications to be used in the Joint Strike Fighter's Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS), an international, multi-billion dollar program.

Essentially, Neoris redefines the model of the consultant client relationship by collaborating directly with our clients, during and after the problem-solving process. We have found that this approach leads to the most ingenious solutions.

Q: What spawned the creation of Neoris?

A: The company grew out of the innovative solutions it created for one of the world's largest and the most profitable cement producer. As in-house technology consultants, the Neoris professionals developed their unique model for capturing value in a large enterprise. The team's prescient analysis and recommendations helped the company reinvent itself as a digital leader in its industry.

Q: Which companies benefit most from your service?

A: We have provided solutions for clients within the Consumer and Industrial Markets, and the Telecommunications, Natural Resources, Financial Services and Government Industry sectors. We address the company's strategic needs by: developing IT architectures for business agility, enabling knowledge transfer, generating return on technology assets, achieve true sales intelligence, stimulating collaboration in the value network, ensuring effectiveness and quality of corporate shared services, creating an effective digital company way. Specifically, we evaluate these areas as a starting point, and use them to define our objectives as we develop customized solutions. Typically, mid--and large-sized companies with revenues of around $300 million, are best positioned to reap the many benefits offered by Neoris.
