BANK OF NOVA SCOTIA, a Canadian bank, paid nearly US$53 minion for a 6.3% stake in its Mexican subsidiary Scotiabank-Inverlat, raising its ownership in the bank to 97.3%. The Canadian bank said it is willing to buy all remaining shares in Scotiabank-Inverlat at 3.1 pesos per share.
