Levi Strauss & Company, a U.S. clothier, said a Mexican court ordered it to pay US$44.5 million to Comexma, a Mexican supplier, after the jeans maker's Mexican counsel gave law enforcement inaccurate brand protection information that prompted a police raid. Levi Strauss, which is appealing the ruling, said it never authorized the raid, which did not turn up bogus Levi's clothing.
