Cambridge Telcom Report, August 16, 1999
RSL Communications, Ltd. (NASDAQ: RSLC) announced Tuesday a company-wide reorganization that includes naming current RSL COM Chief Financial Officer, Donald R. Shassian to the newly created Chief Operating Officer position. Reporting directly to Mr. Shassian will be all country managers and those functions previously organized into regional units including network, engineering, operations, information management, product sourcing and development. See the Company's separate announcement made today for further information on the new organization.

As part of the reorganization the regional headquarters functions will be merged into the new streamlined global headquarters. Richard Williams President and CEO of RSL COM Europe Ltd. has decided to leave the Company, but has agreed to continue on through the rest of 1999 to ensure a well-managed transition.
"I am very excited about RSL COM's new direction and I have great confidence in the ability of Donald Shassian to more efficiently improve our operations. Don has had a dramatically positive influence on RSL COM in the seven months since he joined us.
I am sorry to see Richard go but I respect his view that with a young family he is unable to take a further long term commitment to the extended time away from home that would be required in the new organization.
Richard was responsible for founding RSL COM Europe and bringing in the well-established management team that will remain in place as RSL COM repositions itself as an integrated communications solutions provider. I am confident that we have the right management team to implement our new strategy," said Itzhak Fisher, President and CEO of RSL COM.
RSL COM is currently conducting a search for a new Chief Financial Officer to replace Mr. Shassian.
Additionally, Rodolfo Garcia, RSL COM's Vice President of Latin America, has assumed interim responsibility for the operations of RSL COM, U.S.A. The appointment follows the departure of Edmond Thomas, the former President of RSL COM, U.S.A., who stepped down due to philosophical differences over the future direction of the RSL COM, U.S.A. business. "We have much to thank Ed for in integrating the numerous acquisitions we made in the United States over the past few years," said Itzhak Fisher. "We will be naming Ed's replacement in the near future."
RSL COM is global, facilities-based telecommunications company that provides leading edge product and service solutions to key markets around the globe. With operations on four continents in 21 countries that accounts for over 75 percent of the world's telecommunications traffic, RSL COM was named by Business Week as one of the top ten growth companies in its 1998 INFO TECH 100.
