Cambridge Telcom Report, August 23, 1999

ARC is the nation's leading provider of fiber optic-powered Internet communications to tenants in major commercial office buildings. The company provides tenants access to high bandwidth Internet communications (10mbps and higher) using a fiber optic cable network ARC installs into office properties. "I'm looking forward to adding my expertise to the telecom and technology leadership of ARC's management team," Todd said. "The company has developed the first workable solution to the biggest technology problem facing businesses today -- limited or no access to high-speed Internet, video, voice and data communications in office buildings," said Todd. "ARC's business model is one that the major telecom companies and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have tried unsuccessfully to develop for the past seven years."
"Today, businesses in most office buildings experience the Internet's 'World Wide Wait.' Their Internet communications are constrained by a 'last mile' bottleneck of slow copper telephone wire that most traditional telecom companies and ISPs haven't been willing to replace with a 'first mile' of high-speed fiber optic cable that can provide virtually unlimited bandwidth," said David Crawford, chief executice officer of ARC. "The addition of John Todd to our leadership team will help us realize the power of ARC's LightSpeed Network can bring to our clients."
To date, ARC has connected more than 34 million square feet of commercial office space in 16 major markets with high-speed fiber optic cable. ARC's optical Internet solution provides each building tenant (regardless of size) access to the fastest Internet communications in today's market for a low flat monthly fee.
ARC currently serves a diverse portfolio of commercial properties using its fiber optic network solution in San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, Los Angeles, Denver, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Cleveland, Boston, Philadelphia, and Houston.
Allied Riser Communications (ARC) is the nation's leading provider of fiber optic-powered high-speed Internet, video, voice and data communications solutions to businesses. ARC installs and operates high-speed fiber optic networks and offers high-speed data, voice and video services to building tenants for a monthly service charge.
