Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedFrontier Communications Names New VP of Application Services. Karel Lukas joins company from AT&T International - Company Operations

Frontier Communications announced Wednesday that Karel Lukas has joined the company as vice president of application services. Lukas is responsible for developing a core set of Internet Protocol services, which will help to grow the company's data business. His approach will leverage Frontier's strengths as well as new and existing strategic partnerships.
"Karel is a great addition to our IP team," said Brian Fink, vice president of systems and product development for Frontier. "His expertise in data services will help us take advantage of our competencies to benefit our customers, and his experience in both domestic and international markets will help us position ourselves in the global market."

Lukas joins Frontier after serving two-and-a-half years with AT&T International in Switzerland where he was Director of IP Network and was responsible for network and service engineering. He oversaw the rollout of the Pan-European IP network and Web-hosting services for AT&T International.
Lukas has a diverse technical and managerial background, including the development of large-scale data networks and technology. At AT&T International, Lukas was extensively involved in strategy, business planning, development and service alignment between the regional joint venture and the parent company. He served in various roles in product development and technical sales support for voice and data services in AT&T's domestic business markets. He was also sales director of the intelligent network product line for Lucent Technologies Inc. in Italy for nearly five years.
He has a master's degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
Frontier Communications, a unit of Frontier Corporation, is a leading Internet Protocol (IP) applications and communications services provider.
